Executive Biographies
Kevin Seifert
CEO
Kevin has more than 20 years of global healthcare experience in medical device manufacturing, with particular expertise in the diabetes market.
• Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President of Nova Biomedical, the global leader for developing whole blood analyzers.
• Prior to Nova Biomedical, Kevin held executive positions with several major healthcare corporations.
• He was the President of Becton Dickinson's Consumer Healthcare division, which is especially significant to us because it includes BD's diabetes
care business.
• Kevin also served as the President of Valleylab, a division of Covidien (formerly Tyco Healthcare Corporation).
• He was President of Terumo U.S.
• Kevin also is very involved with several healthcare committees that are important to our industry.
• He is the Chairman of the Health Industry Safety Device Committee (HIMA/AdvaMed) and a Board Member of the Global Infection Control
Committee (CDC/NIOSH).
Tim Richards
President
Tim Richards has recently joined Facet Technologies and he brings more than 20 years of domestic and international general management, operations and commercial experience in the medical device industry.
• Prior to joining Facet Technologies, Mr. Richards served as President of VNUS Medical Technologies, a Covidien company acquisition, and prior to
that he was President of the US Patient Care and Safety Division.
• Mr. Richards also held senior leadership positions with B Braun Medical and Becton Dickinson and Company both in the US and in Asia.
Anthony Cruz
General Manager
Anthony has over twenty years of business experience within the areas of product development, marketing, and business development. Most recently, he was Global Vice President of Business Development at US Surgical, a division of Covidien (formerly Tyco Healthcare) with responsibility for strategic acquisitions of companies and innovative technologies.
• Previously, Anthony was Global Business Director for the VACUTAINERĖ Core Products at Becton Dickinson. While at Becton Dickinson, he managed the
strategy and product development for the core sample collection products.
• Anthony has also helped raise over $40M in venture capital for two biotechnology start-up companies focused on drug discovery tools and the production of
protein-based human drugs.
• Anthony graduated with honors from Tufts University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and from Stanford University with a M.B.A.
Doug Vine
Vice President of Engineering
Doug has a BSME from the University of Massachusetts and over 20 years of experience encompassing a mixture of engineering and program management.
• Doug has expertise in product development, process development, manufacturing operations, agency compliance, six sigma and contract negotiations.
Doug's experience is in the Automotive (Ingersoll-Rand/Torrington), Consumer Electronics (Motorola) and Medical Device (Medtronic) industries.
• At Ingersoll-Rand, Doug worked in the Advanced Technology Center where he led teams developing custom automation and robotic systems.
• Doug held positions as the Manager of Global Automation and as Engineering Section Manager for New Product Development at Motorola.
• After Motorola, Doug moved to Medtronic where he held Senior Management Positions at the Cardiac Rhythm Management's Advanced Manufacturing
Technology center and Interventional Vascular's Production.
Howard Baker
Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs
Howard has over twenty-five years of experience in medical device companies, military and aerospace, developing and implementing advanced quality and regulatory systems.
• He has managed the Barco Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs Department since 1997.
• After joining Barco, he led the company to its first ISO 9001, AS9100, FAA-145, ISO13485, Health Canada and FDA CFR820 certifications. Prior to Barco,
Howard worked in Quality Assurance, Safety, and Production in the Aerospace Industry for Boeing, Rockwell, and United Space Alliance developing
advanced quality systems.
• Howard implemented the first ISO 9001 certification at Kennedy Space Center and served on the Rockwell ISO corporate committee that was responsible
for over 50 ISO certifications in Rockwell. Howard also consulted with NASA and Lockheed Martin's ISO 9001 certifications.
• Howard has a BS in Business and a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the University of Miami (FL), College of Engineering. Executive
education from Harvard Law School, Massachusetts Institute Technology (MIT), and Kellogg School of Management.
Don Jackson
Vice President of Finance
Don has over 18 years of experience as a CFO/Vice President Finance primarily with global manufacturing companies.
• As Vice President, Finance, of Facet Technologies, a private equity owned medical device manufacturer, he handles financial reporting, planning,
accounting, treasury and information technology functions.
• Prior to joining Facet, Don served for three years as the CFO of Hotel Booking Solutions Incorporated, a venture capital backed software technology firm
where he assisted in establishing the corporation and raising three rounds of funding totaling $12 million.
• Don performed all the accounting, reporting, banking and administrative functions while overseeing the legal and HR functions. He also served for 11 years
as the CFO of Porex Corporation, a division of WebMD that manufactured components for medical, life science, industrial and consumer products.
• Don began his career with the global audit and accounting firm of Arthur Andersen after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Wake Forest University with
a B.S. of Accountancy.
Lee Ann Lawson
Director, Human Resources and Administration
Lee Ann has over 17 years of Human Resources experience within the areas of Employee Relations, Benefits and Compensation, Recruitment and Retention, Organizational Development, Performance Management and Legal Compliance.
• Lee Ann has over 11 years of Human Resources leadership experience within the Healthcare and Medical Device industries including Alere Health.
• As Director of Human Resources for Facet Technologies, Lee Ann is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources and support functions, as well as
creating all of Facet's HR policies and procedures.
• Prior to joining Facet, Lee Ann worked for Place Properties as their Sr. Human Resources Manager, where she was responsible for organizational
development, recruitment, compensation plans, employee relations and success planning for the organization. Lee Ann also held HR leadership
roles with for RealEstate.com and Altiva Financial where she was instrumental in creating HR departments.
• Lee Ann has a BA in Psychology from the University of Georgia as well as her PHR certification.
